A serial entrepreneur and CEO with four decades of results-driven leadership, I transform startups into multimillion-dollar companies doing business on the global stage.
From e-commerce to brick and mortar, I’ve pioneered omnichannel, direct-to-consumer strategies for some of the world’s leading brands, including Columbia Sportswear, Custom Nutrition Services, Organic To Go, and Persona, a dietary supplement company I sold to Nestlé Health Science two years post-launch.
Over the course of my 40 year career, I’ve founded 9 companies and in addition to investing personally raised more than $200 million in public and private capital for a variety of companies across multiple industries — apparel, health and wellness, fast-casual dining, retail food and more — often serving as chairman of the board in addition to my executive duties.
Along with managing thousands of employees and opening hundreds of retail locations, I’ve acquired and invested in over a dozen companies, recruited high-powered board members, introduced established American products to new overseas markets, and built efficient, vertically integrated supply chains to successfully scale operations.
In my most recent role as CEO of Persona — which I co-founded with longtime business partners Tamara Bernadot and Prem Thudia who remain as key executives at Persona, we have seen ecommerce through subscription grow geometrically in 5 years. In addition I had the pleasure of working closely with executives representing the nutritional services division of a Global Fortune 100 company. Together, we expanded Persona’s footprint to more than 60 countries, growing a loyal customer base of over 3 million consumers. Most satisfying to me, we also supported 500,000 at-risk children through our charitable partner Vitamin Angels, earning us the title of “Most Responsible Company” by Spy.com.
Today, having recently transitioned from the Nestlé family, I am available for board opportunities, strategic investments or other services through my consulting company, Concept Development Group.
